THE HALF-TIME DEBATE – LET'S TEST IT!

“
Darts cannot move forward if we are afraid to try something new.

Thank you to everyone who shared their views on CTD's proposed 15-minute half-time/strategy break.

The feedback has been mixed – and that is exactly what a good debate should produce.

Some believe the 36-point format already gives players enough time between games. Others believe a structured break would allow teams to reset, regroup, analyse board management and strategise for the second half.

But perhaps the biggest question is: why not test it?

Electronic scoring has already made matches considerably quicker. A structured 15-minute break may therefore be possible without disrupting the overall programme, particularly if the existing lengthy lunch break is reduced.

This is not simply another rest break. It is an opportunity to bring more structure and professionalism to team darts.

CTD proposes that the concept be piloted in all tiers using electronic scoring, with match times and player feedback monitored.

Let's test it.

Let's measure it.

Let's listen to the players.
